Code of Conduct

By purchasing a ticket to attend, agreeing to participate in, volunteer for, or work at any of our events, you agree to read in full and abide by this Code of Conduct for the entire duration of each event you attend.

LoveLitCon is a regularly-occurring, open, inclusive event that respects and values all individuals regardless of ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, age, disability, religion, or lack of any of these. We, as the host, want and intend the event to be a safe and enjoyable experience for all who participate.

We expect all staff, volunteers, partners, and attendees to be aware of and abide by this Code of Conduct. LoveLitCon also requires all participants to abide by all federal, state, and local laws, and to follow any rules set forth by the venue.

LoveLitCon prohibits and has no tolerance for hate speech, inappropriate contact, unwanted sexual advances, discrimination, offensive comments (slurs, epithets, etc.), offensive conduct that targets another person, and/or harassment (sexual or otherwise) for any reason, including based on any characteristic protected under state or federal law. Protected characteristics include, but are not limited to, race, color, religion (including religious dress and grooming), sex or gender, national origin, ancestry, mental or physical disability, medical condition, pregnancy, military or veteran status, genetic information, citizenship status, marital status, sexual orientation and gender identity and/or gender expression.

If you witness or experience any of this behavior directed toward you or someone else, or have any other concerns, please report it to a member of the event staff or venue staff as quickly as possible.

Any person engaging in any form of the prohibited behaviors described above (at the sole determination of LoveLitCon staff) shall result in an immediate request for said person to leave and/or to be escorted away from the event, shall not be entitled to any refunds whatsoever, and shall be banned from all future LoveLitCon events.

We’re all part of the bookish community. Let’s unite in our shared love and interests, and celebrate our differences and unique perspectives. Please don’t be cruel, rude, or mean to anyone. In general, we expect you to be a good human, respect others, and be kind and considerate to each other and to yourself. It’s not hard.
